Exam Results 2024

The class of 2024 exceeded expectations and delivered results which represent the best progress in the school's history!!

The students, their families and our staff have been able to celebrate another strong set of exam results with:

  • 44% of students achieved a grade 5 or above in English in Maths

  • 67% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English and Maths

In terms of progress made, these represent the best results the school has ever achieved.

It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces as students picked up their exam results this morning.

As always, there have been some amazing individual performances with students achieving a collection of grade 9 and grade 8s. This included:

  • Lucy Robinson – 3 x 9s; 4 x 8s and 2 x 7s

  • Dylan Norris – 4 x 9s; 2 x 8s and 3 x 7s

  • Sophie Page – 2 x 9s; 6 x 8s and 1 x 7

The top performers were Phoebe Adshead and Sam Turner. Both Phoebe and Sam achieved the incredible feat of grade 9s in every subject they took.

Phoebe Adshead - 9 grade 9s Sam Turner - 9 grade 9s

We also saw some fantastic performances from students who faced incredible challenges, including students from Ukraine and Afghanistan who joined the school and achieved amazing results in a remarkably short amount of time.

Headteacher Richard Johnson said:

“Results day is unquestionably one of the best days in the school year as it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students. The class of 2024 have been a joy to work with over the past 5 years. Their humour, their hard work and their spirit have been key to them delivering on their very considerable potential. Their results show what is possible when that hard work and determination is combined with the fabulous teaching and support staff we have at Severn Vale School. As an 11 – 16 school we bid farewell to the class of 2024 as they move on to a variety of Sixth Forms, Colleges and Apprenticeships. Given the great foundation they have achieved at Severn Vale, I know they will go on to make their mark in the world and wish them all the very best.”

Our focus as a school now turns to ensuring that next year’s results are even better!
