Exam Results — 2013
Severn Vale is probably the most improved secondary school in Gloucestershire and the reasons for that are clear: skilful teaching, motivated students, an appropriate curriculum, dedicated teaching and support staff who go the extra mile, supportive parents and governors. Add in sheer hard graft from all concerned, and you have a recipe for success.
In recent years exam results at Severn Vale School have been transformed, and today we are celebrating yet more success. 2013 has been a record-breaking year. Exceeding the challenging targets that had been set, some 67% of students gained five or more GCSEs (grade A*-C including English and Maths).
Headteacher Peter Rowland commented:
“Much has been said nationally about GCSEs being made tougher this year. That makes today’s record-breaking results doubly satisfying. I am delighted for the students who have worked so hard. They deserve all the success they have achieved, and we are confident they will go on to great things in the future”.
He went on to add:

Work at the school was continuing today on progression routes, ensuring that each Year 11 student progresses to the next stage of their learning, either at a Post 16 institution or in a job with clear training opportunities.
