Our Rhythm Ensemble perform in the Music for Youth regional festival

The Severn Vale School  Rhythm Ensemble recently participated at Cheltenham Town Hall as part of the Music for Youth regional festival.

Our SVS Rhythm Ensemble recently participated at Cheltenham Town Hall as part of the Music for Youth regional festival. This is an annual nationwide event where young musicians from each area get the opportunity to perform at a local venue as part of a regional showcase and is adjudicated by professional music mentors.   The band were well rehearsed and performed really well, rightfully earning many compliments from all present.

We are also particularly proud that our school were amongst just a few county schools  involved in this annual event (inc. Balcarras Chamber Choir and Thomas Keble School Choir). The remainder of the performances were Cheltenham Harp Ensemble plus a large range of Gloucestershire Music groups as part of their countywide provision, so SVS can stand very proud that in 2025 they have been the only Secondary School in our county to have a band with singers performing to a national festival audience. A big accolade and congratulations are definitely due to them! The Music mentors really enjoyed their performance and the band deserve to be really pleased.

Students involved were:

Olivia M (Y10), Ava J (Y9), Emily C (Y9), Olivia K (Y7), Dylan JK (Y10), Ethan W (Y9), Max M (Y10) and Eaden L (Y8)
