DofE Expedition

Last weekend saw the final DofE expedition for the 2023/2024 cohort.

The weather was perfect, not too hot or cold and only rain briefly whilst the students were asleep in their tents. The Bronze participants walked about 25 km over two days with the Silver participants walking about 40km over three days. They also did well being self-sufficient over the weekend. The way they navigated their way around the route, set up camp and ensured they were suitably fed throughout, meant that everyone who attended successfully completed the expedition section.

The students were a credit to the school showing an amazing attitude and demonstrating all the all the school values: courtesy, compassion, honesty, integrity and perseverance. The two lead instructors from Ocean Rock, were very keen to work with our students again and full of praise for our students.

Following, successfully completing the weekend, fifteen of this year's cohort have completed their current awards, with another thirteen now only one section away. Congratulations, to all those involved.

Finally, thank you to Miss Cooke, Mrs Darlington, Mrs Hart, Mr Howard, Miss Jones and Mr Smith for giving up their weekend to help our students.
