Severn Vale School is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs
Severn Vale School is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs this summer after what has been the most challenging two years for these students.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
There were a range of outstanding individual student performances including:
- Jess Ireland – 8 x 9s and 1 x 7
- Sam Seville – 5 x 9s; 3 x 8s and 1 x 7
- Isobel Harrison – 4 x 9s; 4 x 8s and 1 x 7
- Marley Oliffe – 6 x 9s; 1 x 8 and 2 x 7s
- Calum Preece – 4 x 9s and 5 x 8s
Particular mention must go to Ruqaya Zayd. She only arrived in England in January 2020. Her amazing academic ability and work ethic was evident from day 1. Today she received her results: 6 x 9s and 1 x 8; a truly humbling achievement from a very special individual.
Richard Johnson, Headteacher said of the results: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
